St. Philip’s Farmers’ Market, Tucson, AZ, pt. 1

Pt. 1: More pics from the farmer’s market at St. Philip’s Plaza in Tucson, Arizona. This is just one of the many great farmer’s markets in the Tucson area. As we only have 2 seasons (summer and kinda winter — most parts of the country wouldn’t consider what we have winter), you can find markets to go to pretty much all year round. Some of my faves at this particular market are peaches & cherries from Wilcox, AZ, bee pollen from Marana, AZ, 2-day aged goat “feta,” Native heritage beans & flours, crunchy dried veggies, and Grammy’s hot mustard (it’s got to be good if it’s from a Grammy!). And, of course, all of the wonderful locally grown produce.image image image image image image image image image image image image image image image

To Market to Market…

I am so thankful that Jasmine Market, a Middle Eastern market, opened up in Tucson, Arizona. They also have a small restaurant inside the market. This trip, I picked up some sumac, fenugreek, lentils, bulgar and vermicelli, and a few other items. I spotted some pickled turnips and pickled mango (they have a quite a few pickled things), so perhaps I will attempt making my own!

To Market to Market…

I was on the lookout for sweet potatoes this visit to my local food co-op, Food Conspiracy. I started craving root veggies upon entering, so I picked up some of those, as well. Pics are from several visits. Food Conspiracy is located on 4th Avenue in Tucson, Arizona and has beautiful fresh, local produce, a stellar hot/cold bar, delectable house-made pastries, and so much more. It’s one of my favorite places to shop.
